RECAP
The day started off a little bit warmer than usual for a Malibu February, and the #17 Waves helped heat it up in doubles. Pepperdine has struggled most of the spring season in doubles play but refused to show it today, where Ashley Lahey and Astrid Olsen struck first on court two, delivering a quick 6-1 handling of Texas' Fernanda Labrana and Marta Perez Mur.

Jessica Failla and Anastasia Iamachkine sealed the doubles point for the Waves on court one with a 6-3 win over the 20th-ranked doubles team in the country- Anna and Bianca Turati.

Up 1-0, the #17 Waves took no time winning in singles. #45 Iamachkine won first in a big 6-4, 6-1 drubbing of the Longhorns' Adri Nagy on court three, followed by Olsen who delivered a 6-4, 6-4 win over Perez Mur on court five to put the Waves in need of just one court to clinch the match.

#53 Failla won and won big, defeating the #3 player in the country Anna Turati on No. 2 singles 7-5, 6-4 to clinch the match at 4-0.

The Waves weren't done there, however, as all matches were played to completion. Next up for Pepperdine was No. 6 singles Daria Kuczer, who defeated Tijana Spasojevic 6-2, 7-6(3). #2 Lahey followed suit, defeating #26 Bianca Turati 7-5, 6-4 on No. 1 singles to put the overall score at 6-0.

Lisa Zaar needed an extra set to beat Labrana on four, but did so with ease 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to give the #17 Waves a complete sweep over #4 Texas, 7-0.

UP NEXT
Pepperdine has a quick turnaround as they head into Los Angeles tomorrow to take on #8 UCLA at noon. Live stats and streaming will be available at PepperdineWaves.com.
