Freshly Ranked #30 Waves Continue Road Expedition in Nebraska

MALIBU, Calif. – The 30th-ranked Pepperdine men's tennis team will embark on their fifth-consecutive road match on Friday, as the Waves will attempt to keep their eight-match win streak alive against Nebraska.

SCOUTING THE HUSKERS
Currently 2-7, Nebraska has accrued two wins- a 7-0 d rumming of UMKC and a 4-3 nail-biter over UTSA. The Waves and Huskers have only met once prior to this weekend, as Pepperdine took a 7-0 win in 2012.
 
ROLLING WAVES
#30 Pepperdine has yet to lose a match this year, going 8-0 over the past month of ITA competition. Adrian Zeitvogel still has not dropped a match this season, as he defeated then#29 Minnesota's Siim Troost on court three 1-6, 6-2, 6-2. Following the theme, Tim Zeitvogel has remained lossless in an 18-match win streak dating back to March of 2019. Corrado Summaria is the only ranked member of the Waves at #47 on the ITA singles list.
 
Against #29 Minnesota, Pepperdine snatched the doubles point as Daniel De Jonge and Oetzbach won on court one and Summaria and Zeitvogel delivered the final blow on court two. In singles, freshman Robert Shelton grabbed the first win on six, beating his Gopher opponent 6-4, 6-1, followed by two Minnesota wins to put the score at an even 2-2. As mentioned previously, Oetzbach took his court and Zeitvogel was left to clinch the match on four going 7-6, 7-5 to seal the match for the Waves at 4-2. Enrique Luque Rico fought off a comeback on five, winning the first set 7-6 and then dropping the second 5-7 to win a 10-6 super breaker, putting the final score at 5-2.

#30 Pepperdine will once again travel to the central section of the country, where they'll face off with #42 Oklahoma in Norman on Monday at 12 p.m. PT.
