WAVEPOINTS
• Pepperdine and #22 UCLA meet in the post-Thanksgiving final day of competition at San Diego State's multi-team event.
• The Waves' last win against a ranked opponent was 11/27/2004 at home against #20 Wisconsin. The last victory against a ranked opponent that came away from home was 11/28/2001 at #10 UCLA — the last time the Waves beat the Bruins. UCLA has won the last five meetings.
• Colbey Ross, named to the Naismith and Cousy preseason watch lists, needs 10 points to tie and 11 points to pass Stacy Davis for Pepperdine's all-time scoring record. Ross will have set the record in 25 fewer games if it happens against UCLA. He should make his 100th consecutive start (and 100th career start) on Friday.
• Ross is also the NCAA's active career assists leader and Pepperdine record-holder. He needs 10 made free throws to become the program's all-time leader in that category as well.
• Last year, Ross averaged 25.7 points in three games against the Pac-12, including a then-career-high 38 at USC, the most-ever by a Wave against a Power 5 school.
• Kessler Edwards began his junior campaign with a team-high 20 points in Wednesday's 86-72 win against UC Irvine. Five Waves scored in double-figures and seven scored at least eight points.
• Ross and Edwards were named to the preseason All-WCC team (Pepperdine and Gonzaga were the only schools to put multiple players on the 10-man list).
• Three Waves made their debuts on Wednesday, including grad transfer Kene Chukwuka, who scored 10 points.
• Lorenzo Romar is in his third season this time around at Pepperdine, his sixth season in all with the Waves over two stints, and his 24th season as a head coach. He was an assistant coach at UCLA for four seasons, which included the 1995 NCAA championship team.
• The Waves feature an experienced squad, with seven of the top nine scorers from last season back. A total of 11 players had previously seen action for Pepperdine.
• The Waves were picked to finish fourth in the WCC preseason coaches' poll.

WAVECASTS — The UCLA game can be listened to online via WaveCasts at PepperdineWaves.com. Veteran play-by-play man Al Epstein, a 2015 Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame inductee who is now in his 36th season, will be behind the microphone. This will be his 1,071st consecutive men's basketball broadcast for the Waves.

WATCH — The UCLA game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. JB Long and Don MacLean are the broadcasters.

PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #49 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
