PULLMAN, Washington – The Pepperdine women's golf team finished up the WSU Cougar Cup on Tuesday with one of the best rounds of the day, while
Momoka Kobori continued her great start to the season with a tie for third place.
After shooting a 6-under today (one off the best score of the day), the Waves climbed a couple of spots and finished in a tie for ninth place with a two-day total of 872 (289-301-282) at the par-72 Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
PLAYER SCORES
- Senior Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand), who won the season-opening Dick McGuire Invitational last week, shot her second 4-under 68 of the competition to rise into a tie for third place with a 6-under 210 (68-74-68). Her final round included three birdies and an eagle.
- Freshman Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i/Maui HS) shot a 3-under 69 today to move up 20 spots and into a tie for 22nd at 217 (71-77-69). Her round included four birdies.
- Sophomore Sifan He (Shanghai, China) tied for 55th at 226 (75-77-74). She had one birdie today.
- Junior Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom/Florida Tech) also tied for 55th at 226 (77-73-76). She had three birdies in the third round.
- Freshman Alexa Melton (Covina, Calif./South Hills HS) bounced back with a 1-under 71 to finish tied for 60th at 227 (75-81-71). Her final round included five birdies.
- Playing as an individual, sophomore Kathrine Chan (Richmond, B.C., Canada) tied for 66th at 228 (76-72-80). She had one birdie today.
UP NEXT
Pepperdine's third tournament in three weeks to start the season will be next week's Golfweek Conference Challenge (Sept. 23-25) in Wolcott, Colorado.
