MALIBU, California — The Pepperdine women's soccer team begins the 2019 season, the 27th in program history, with four consecutive home matches. Thursday's opener is against UC Riverside and Sunday's matchup is with #12 Texas A&M.
MATCH #1 — Thursday (August 22) at Tari Frahm Rokus Field in Malibu, California: Pepperdine (0-0) vs. UC Riverside (0-0) at 3 p.m.
MATCH #2 — Sunday (August 25) at Tari Frahm Rokus Field in Malibu, California: Pepperdine vs. #12 Texas A&M (0-0, plays at Santa Clara on Thursday) at 1 p.m.

OPPONENTS — This will be the first-ever meeting between Pepperdine and UC Riverside. The Highlanders went 11-4-3 last season and tied for sixth place in the Big West ... The Waves are 1-1 all-time against the Aggies, with a 3-1 road victory in 2013 and a 1-0 neutral-site loss in 2017 (in San Diego). Texas A&M went 17-5-1 last season and made it to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
NOTABLE — The Waves are 16-6-4 all-time in season openers. They had gone unbeaten for eight straight years before losing each of the last two. In matches that double as the home and season opener, Pepperdine is 13-3-1 ... This is the fourth time in program history that the Waves have begun a season with at least four consecutive home matches (the last was 2014) ... Pepperdine has one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. The combined win-loss record of their non-conference opponents in 2018 was 120-62-20 (.643), and five of them won matches in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
TICKETS — Single-game tickets at Tari Frahm Rokus Field cost $10 each for adults and $8 each for children under 12, seniors 65+ and alumni/Crest members. Students, faculty and staff are free with an ID. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $5 each.
