SPOKANE, Wash. – Pepperdine men's tennis went down to the wire in a nail-biter at Gonzaga (12-6, 3-1 WCC), dropping the match 4-3.
The Waves fall to 8-9 overall and 2-2 in the West Coast Conference. The next match is scheduled for Saturday, where Pepperdine will take on Portland at 11 a.m.

MATCH RECAP
The Waves started off hot in doubles play, as Pepperdine split courts one and two. On two,
Enrique Luque Rico and
Corrado Summaria took extra points to win their match, but did so 7-5. The doubles decision was left to
Matias Sborowitz and
Pawel Jankowiak on court three, as their match went into extra points as well, snatching the court by a score of 7-6 and putting the Waves up 1-0 over the Bulldogs.
Pepperdine dropped their first three matches in singles play before
Tim Zeitvogel defeated his competition 7-5 and 6-2, putting the overall score at 3-2 in favor of Gonzaga.
On court three, Summaria took his match into an extra set and won by scores of 6-2, 4-6 and 6-2, bringing the Waves even with the Bulldogs at 3-3. Court four proved to be the tie breaker, where Sborowitz extended his match into three sets, going 7-6, 6-7 and 4-6, consequentially dropping the Waves to 3-4 overall.

The Waves make the short trip to Oregon to take on Portland on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Pilots stand 8-8 overall and 2-1 in WCC play, with their only conference loss coming by the hands of Loyola Marymount.
