#6 Waves Honor Seniors in Final Regular Season Matches

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's tennis team looks to extend their 14-match winning streak with their final two regular season matches at home versus San Francisco and Santa Clara this weekend.
Before Saturday's match against the Broncos, the Waves will take a moment to recognize their two seniors, Adrijana Lekaj and Dzina Milovanovic.

THE WAVES: Pepperdine is currently 17-3 this dual season overall. Senior and 92nd-ranked Adrijana Lekaj has composed the most singles wins for the Waves with 24, including holding a 11-6 output the dual season. Anastasia Iamachkine claims the next highest record with 21 wins this season including a tie with Lekaj for the most singles wins in the dual campaign going 11-1. Daria Kuczer has eight wins and Satsuki Takamura has seven, respectively.
Throughout singles tournaments and dual action, No. 33 Ashley Lahey currently has a 15-7 overall season record, going 9-3 in the dual campaign. No. 50 Jessica Failla has posted an 14-6 overall record and Dzina Milovanovic currently holds an 16-8 record on the season.
In doubles, the Waves have collected a 33-16 record for a 67 percent success rate. The  29th-ranked pair of Failla and Iamachkine have amassed a 15-8 overall record including going 8-2 against ranked opponents. Tandem Lahey and Kuczer are currently 8-1 in dual play and Milovanovic and Lekaj are 10-5.
OPPONENT NOTES: Pepperdine hosts USF first this week. The Waves are undefeated against the Dons, boasting a 15-0 record dating back to 1997. The Dons are 8-11 this dual season, and 1-6 in conference play. The Dons don't hold any ranked singles or doubles players.
After facing the Dons on Friday, the Waves will host Santa Clara. All-time the Waves are undefeated against the Broncos, going 19-0 dating back to 1987.
The Broncos are currently 6-10 this dual season with a 2-5 output in conference play. Santa Clara has one ranked singles player, #112 Maddie Pothoff and no ranked doubles pairs.
LAST WEEK AGAINST PACIFIC AND SAINT MARY'S: Last week, the Waves traveled to USC, San Diego, and BYU.
The Waves picked up their first win of the week against then-ranked #13 USC, 4-1. Pepperdine earned the doubles point after wins from pairs of Lahey and Kuczer and Lekaj and Milovanovic. They went on to win the match with singles wins from #43 Lahey 6-4, 6-2 over then-#46 Salma Ewing, #57 Failla 6-0, 6-4 over then-#95 Angela Kulikov and #84 Lekaj 6-1, 6-0 over Rianna Valdes.
The Waves then traveled to WCC opponents San Diego and BYU. The Waves' sweep of the Toreros started with doubles wins from #33 Failla and Iamachkine going 7-5 over #54 Soylar Colling and Maria-Paula Torres, as well as Lahey and Kuzer snating a 6-1 pounding over Daniela Morales and Maria Tyrina. The match was then clinched with a 6-2, 6-4 win from Failla over Morales.
In the final match of the week, the Waves defeated BYU 4-1. Leading off with securing the doubles point was Failla/Iamachkine, where they defeated the Cougar pair of Kate Cusick and Anastasia Abramyan 6-1. The win was then secured with singles wins from Lahey, Milovanovic and Kuczer, who defeated their BYU opponents in two sets each.
ORACLE/ITA RANKINGS: The Waves are ranked #6 overall in the Oracle-ITA rankings. In doubles, Anastasia Iamachkine and Jessica Faila  are ranked #29. Three Waves are ranked in singles- #33 Lahey, #50 Failla and #92 Lekaj.
LOOKING AHEAD: Next, Pepperdine travel to Claremont to compete in the WCC Championships on April 25th through the 27th.
