STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team suffered its second loss in a row in Sunday's series finale against Pacific, falling 13-3.

The Waves (14-10, 5-4 WCC) stay above .500 in league play, and look to right the ship next week in a home West Coast Conference series with Santa Clara.

BIG WAVES

Sophomore infielder Billy Cook (Monument, Colo./Lewis Palmer HS) had the best day for the Waves, going 2-for-3 and driving in two of the three runs for the Waves, including his third home run of the year.
Freshman catcher Mitchell Dickson (Flower Mound, Texas/Marcus HS) had the other RBI for the Waves, going 1-for-3 on the day.

GAME RECAP
Pacific got on the board first in the first inning with an RBI single up the middle to take a 1-0 lead after one.

The Tigers then got a 2-run home run in the third inning to extend their lead to 3-0 after three.

Pepperdine got its first run on a leadoff solo home run in the fourth from Cook to cut the lead to 3-1. Dickson then singled up the middle, scoring Aharon Modlin from third. The Tigers took a 3-2 lead to the bottom of the fourth.

In the bottom of the fourth, three consecutive hits led to four runs for the Tigers. Then a wild pitch and an RBI double gave them a 9-2 lead after four innings of play.

A leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth extended the Tigers' lead to 10-2, and a 2-RBI double gave them 12 runs. The Tigers scored their final run in the seventh on a solo shot, taking a 13-2 lead.

Cook got his second RBI of the game in the seventh inning, an RBI double to score Quincy McAfee, cutting Pacific's lead to the final, 13-3 score.

UP NEXT
The Waves will not have a midweek game in the upcoming week, but will host Santa Clara on the weekend for the Waves' fourth WCC series. First pitch on Friday will be at 3 p.m.
