WAVEPOINTS
• The Pepperdine men's basketball team closes out the regular season with a pair of home games, the first of which comes against Portland on Saturday.
• The Waves have won seven of the last eight games against the Pilots in Firestone Fieldhouse and are looking for a season sweep for the first time since 2013.
• Pepperdine still has hopes of a top-six finish that would allow the Waves to avoid playing on the first night of the West Coast Conference Tournament, but they must win their final two games.
•
Colbey Ross is fifth in the WCC in scoring (18.6) and first in assists (7.3). Nationally, he's fifth in assists and third in both free throws made (190) and attempted (225).Â
• Ross needs three assists to tie and four assists to set the Pepperdine single-season record. He needs eight free throws to tie and nine free throws to set the Pepperdine single-season record. He's now sixth all-time in assists at Pepperdine with 384, and is 11 away from fifth place. He needs 32 points to reach 1,000 for his career.
•
Eric Cooper Jr. has made 72 three-pointers this season, tied for sixth on Pepperdine's single-season list. He's first in the WCC in accuracy (42.9%) and third in makes (2.6).
• Among WCC freshmen,
Kessler Edwards ranks first in rebounding, second in blocked shots and third in scoring. He set a Pepperdine freshman record with six steals on Thursday at Gonzaga.
•
Darnell Dunn is coming off his best performance in WCC play, 16 points and seven rebounds at Gonzaga, and he's averaging 13.0 points in the last three games.
•
Lorenzo Romar has helped elevate the Waves as he begins his second stint as head coach. He recorded his milestone 400th career victory on January 12 at San Diego.
• The Waves matched their 2017-18 win total of six in their 10th game, and surpassed it with their seventh win in the 14th game. Their 10th win gave them double-digit wins for the first time since 2015-16.
• The Waves close out the regular season at home next Saturday against Pacific. Seniors
Eric Cooper Jr. and
Darnell Dunn will be honored before the game.

PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). The Waves have produced 205 conference championships, 318 All-Americans and 53 Olympians. Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #46 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
