WAVEPOINTS
• In its final road game, the Pepperdine men's basketball team faces its most challenging contest of the season as the Waves visit second-ranked Gonzaga.
• The Waves are finishing up a stretch of three consecutive road games against three of the top four teams in the West Coast Conference.
• Colbey Ross is fifth in the WCC in scoring (18.8) and first in assists (7.3). Nationally, he's fifth in assists and in the top three in free throws made (187) and attempted (220).
• Ross, now seventh all-time in assists at Pepperdine with 376, needs three more to get to sixth place. With 197 assists this season, he's 11 away from the school single-season record. He's also 11 free throws away from Pepperdine's season record.
• Eric Cooper Jr. has made 69 three-pointers this season, eighth on Pepperdine's single-season list. He's first in the WCC in accuracy (42.3%) and third in makes (2.6).
• Among WCC freshmen, Kessler Edwards ranks first in rebounding, second in blocked shots and third in scoring.
• The injury bug hasn't hit the Waves to quite the same extent this season, but Pepperdine is again without its second-leading scorer, Kameron Edwards, who is out indefinitely with a foot injury.
• Seventeen times this season, it's been a five-point game or less in the final five minutes. Eleven times this season, it's been a three-point game or less in the final minute.
• Lorenzo Romar has helped elevate the Waves as he begins his second stint as head coach. He recorded his milestone 400th career victory on January 12 at San Diego.
• The Waves matched their 2017-18 win total of six in their 10th game, and surpassed it with their seventh win in the 14th game. Their 10th win gave them double-digit wins for the first time since 2015-16.
• Pepperdine plays its final two regular-season games at home, including Saturday vs. Portland.

WATCH — Thursday's game will be shown on KHQ-TV in Spokane, ROOT Sports Northwest, NBC Sports Bay Area+ and AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain. Everywhere else, including Southern California, it will be available on TheW.tv. Greg Heister, Richard Fox and Dan Dickau are the broadcasters.

PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). The Waves have produced 205 conference championships, 318 All-Americans and 53 Olympians. Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #46 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
