As all Waves players went undefeated in singles, #32
Jessica Failla and
Anastasia Iamachkine saw defeats of top-30 ranked opponents. Failla beat the #26 player in the country in Michigan's Chiara Lommer 6-1, 6-0 in the second round, as Iamachkine upset #24 Julia Rosenqvist of California 7-6(5), 5-7, 6-4 to advance into the tournament quarterfinals.

Ashley Lahey showed no signs of wear and tear, as she defeated both of her opponents in straight sets, taking a 6-4, 6-3 win over Alexandra Sanford of a talented North Carolina team and then a 6-3, 6-2 win over California's Valentina Ivanova.
