SAN DIEGO, Calif. – All three members of the Pepperdine women's tennis team advanced into the singles and doubles main draw quarterfinals of the 2019 ITA Southwest Regional on Friday.

RECAP
It was a typical day for the Waves as all three in competition won out and advanced into the main draw singles quarterfinals and the round of 16 in doubles. Daria Kuczer and Lisa Zaar started the day off with an 8-3 win over Cal State – Fullerton's Acidera/Valenzuela as a nice warm-up for singles.
 
In the singles main draw round of 32, Kuczer defeated Arizona State's Slaysman 6-2, 6-4, followed by Zaar as she beat Francati of San Diego 6-4, 6-1. Anastasia Iamachkine opened up her play winning over the likes of another USD opponent, going 6-1, 6-3 over Morales.
 
In the sweet 16 round, Iamachkine beat UCSB's Lev-Ari 6-4, 7-5 to advance into the tournament quarterfinals. Zaar's path, however, was not as easy as she struck the #102 player from USC in Wilson- but Zaar was not intimidated as she defeated Wilson in three sets (5-7, 6-3, 6-3). Kuczer's match went to three as well, as she eventually defeated Grand Canyon's Puehse 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to advance.
