WAVEPOINTS
• After having Thursday night off, the Pepperdine men's basketball team resumes West Coast Conference play on Saturday by welcoming Saint Mary's to Malibu.Â
• The first 1,000 fans will receive a free replica Pepperdine basketball jersey. Don Francisco's will be providing free coffee before the game. University Credit Union is the game sponsor.
• This is the annual Suits & Sneakers weekend to promote and benefit Coaches vs. Cancer.
• The Waves won three in a row against the Gaels in 2015 and 2016, but since then, Saint Mary's has won the last six meetings.
•
Colbey Ross is fifth in the WCC in scoring (18.6) and first in assists (7.2). Nationally, he's sixth in assists and fourth in free throws made (127). He's recorded at least 10 assists in four of the last seven games.
•
Kameron Edwards has scored 23, 22 and 22 points in his last three games. In league games only, he ranks fourth in the conference in scoring (17.8).
• The Waves lead the WCC and are 16th nationally in turnover margin (+4.0). Only twice in 20 games has Pepperdine committed more turnovers than the opponent.
• The Waves also lead the WCC in three-pointers made per game (9.3). The Waves haven't finished in the top three in the conference in this category in a decade. Pepperdine made 14 three-pointers last weekend at LMU.
•
Lorenzo Romar has helped elevate the Waves as he begins his second stint as head coach. He recorded his milestone 400th career victory on January 12 at San Diego.
• The Waves matched their 2017-18 win total of six in their 10th game, and surpassed it with their seventh win in the 14th game. They will post double-digit wins for the first time since 2015-16 with their next victory.
• The Waves have another two-game road trip next weekend, first to Portland and then to Pacific. After Saturday, five of the next seven games are on the road.

PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). The Waves have produced 205 conference championships, 318 All-Americans and 53 Olympians. Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #46 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
