PLAY-BY-PLAY
Gonzaga came out strong to open the first set and amassed a 4-1 lead to start the match, but the Waves came back to close the gap at the 10-10 mark early on.  After a 13-13 tie, however, the home team once again pulled ahead for the advantage and continued on to a 25-17 set win.

Down 1-0, the Waves jumped out of the starting gate in set two.  Kills from Tarah Wylie, Alli O'Harra and Hannah Frohling in the beginning moments set the tone and Pepperdine tallied a 12-6 lead to pick up the advantage.  Pepperdine continued to pound down on the opposition and a big block from Wylie and Blossom Sato helped the effort towards a 19-12 lead.  Late in the set, the Waves kept on rolling and kills from Rachel Ahrens and O'Harra put the team in a position to close.  A final O'Harra, Shannon Scully block collaboration sealed the deal and gave the Waves a 25-15 second set win to tie the match.

Each side came out going point-for-point to start the third set, but after an 11-11 tie, the Waves took the lead and used the momentum throughout the rest of the action.  Big block efforts from Frohling, O'Harra, Wylie, Scully and Ahrens helped the cause late in the set and the team led with a 21-15 advantage.  Scully put an ace down the line in the final moments and Pepperdine closed the set with a Wylie smash to win 25-19 and pull ahead 2-1 in the game.

With the momentum on their side of the court, Pepperdine once again fired out of the starting gate in the fourth, working towards a quick 4-1 lead to set the tone.  The Waves eight team blocks in the fourth set alone helped the effort, including back-to-back Wylie rejections to put the Waves ahead 17-8 late in the action.  Gonzaga collected a few points late in the set to attempt to close the gap, but Pepperdine was resilient and a Frohling, O'Harra block followed by a final smash from Frohling earned the Waves a 25-18 set win for the four-set overall victory.
