PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Waves jumped out to a strong start from the beginning of the match, amassing a 7-4 lead with kills from Shannon Scully and Rachel Ahrens.  Blocks from Ahrens and Alli O'Harra later in the set, along with smashes from Tarah Wylie, helped the Waves push the gap to a 16-9 lead.  The opposition scattered a few points throughout, but Pepperdine was unstoppable on the offensive, using a .356 attack effort in the first set to get to set point.  Hannah Frohling put an ace down on the back line to close the first with a 25-15 win.

After dropping the first two points in the second set, the Waves bounced back quick with smashes from Scully and Ahrens and another block collaboration from Ahrens and Wylie gave the home team an 11-8 advantage.  The opposition stayed close behind, however, and countered with an offensive of their own to tie the set at 16's.  After trading points to the 18-18 mark, back-to-back blocks from Ahrens and O'Harra and Ahrens and Wylie gave Pepperdine the needed edge to work towards a 25-21 second set win.

The Waves let up in the third set and despite trading tied scores from the 8-8 mark to the 18-18 mark, dropped with a 25-21 set score to push the match to a fourth.

In the fourth and final set, Pepperine was nearly untouchable.  21 kills on a .516 success rate including smashes from Frohling and O'Harra helped the cause towards a 14-12 lead later in the action.  Eight big services from O'Harra including back-to-back aces in the back stretch gave the Waves set point at 24-15.  Wylie did the honors on a smash down the line to give the Waves their first home-win of the season over Idaho.
