PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Waves came out with high energy to open set one, amassing a 5-1 lead with back-to-back smash efforts from Tarah Wylie and Hannah Frohling.  The Waves continued to pound down with no let up for the Mean Green, reaching the 18-10 mark late in the action.  After a pair of blocks from Shannon Scully and Alli O'Harra helped the cause and a service ace from Blossom Sato and final smash from Scully put the set away with a 25-12 win.

In the second set, Pepperdine went back-and-forth with North Texas throughout, seeing ties at the 8-8 and 17-17 marks throughout.  In the final moments, Frohling went on fire with three kills from the outside and a block from O'Harra and Sato put the Waves in a position to close.  A second ace from Frohling and a big kill from Scully put the set away 25-18 and put the Waves ahead heading into the third.

Pepperdine took the early lead in the third set, pulling ahead 6-3 early on kills from Frohling and O'Harra, but the opposition countered with an attack effort of their own to make it an 11-11 tie.  A big block from Wylie and Scully gave the Waves the next advantage and the home team used it to pull ahead 17-13.  After smashes from Scully and O'Harra, Pepperdine had the lead heading into the final moments and shut the door with a big kill effort from Ahrens and some costly errors from the opposition.  With the 25-22 third set win, the Waves earned the team's second sweep of the season.
