Waves Come Home to Face Brown, #8 USC

MALIBU, California — The Pepperdine women's soccer team plays its next three games at home, beginning with Friday's home opener against Brown and a Sunday matchup with #8 USC.

MATCH #3 — Friday (August 24) at Tari Frahm Rokus Field in Malibu, California: Pepperdine (0-2) vs. Brown (0-0) at 3 p.m.

MATCH #4 — Sunday (August 26) at Tari Frahm Rokus Field in Malibu, California: Pepperdine vs. #8 USC (1-0, hosts Cal Poly on Friday) at 1 p.m.

ONLINE — Both games will be streamed live via WaveCasts on TheW.tv. Al Epstein has the call on Friday, and Darren Preston is behind the microphone on Sunday. Links to both broadcasts and live stats can be found at PepperdineWaves.com.

OPPONENTS — This will be the first meeting between Pepperdine and Brown ... Pepperdine is 6-7-1 all-time against USC, with a 1-4-1 mark in Malibu. The Waves' home win came in the inaugural season of 1993 (though they also posted a win via penalty kicks in the 2014 NCAA Tournament).

LAST WEEK — The Waves had a difficult time getting the season started in Big XII country, with a pair of 1-0 road losses at Kansas and Texas Tech. The Waves outshot the Jayhawks 8-6, but then were outshot 14-5 by the Red Raiders.

NOTABLE — Eight Waves made their collegiate debuts during the season's first two games ... Pepperdine began last season without a win during its opening weekend, and still went on to a 15-3-3 record ... This was only the second time in program history that the Waves began a season with two true road games (1996, won at San Jose State and lost at Santa Clara) ... Pepperdine's non-conference opponents won 60% of their games last season (106-66-27).

NEXT — The Waves close out this three-game homestand with a contest against Indiana next Friday (August 31).
