After battling through a few denied match-points, Dyer and Hernandez shut the door and secured a 24-22 set win to clinch the overall 3-0 victory for Pepperdine.
In the second match, Hawai'i took three first set wins to set the tone, but the Waves bounced back. UH took the first point on court one, but Roh and Bauer dominated court two with a 21-17, 21-16 win over Morgan Martin and Lea Monkhouse to even things up.
