LONG BEACH, Calif. " The top-ranked Pepperdine beach volleyball squad downed 7th-ranked Long Beach State 3-2 at the LBSU Sand Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
Madalyn Roh and Brook Bauer clinched for the Waves (6-2) with a two-set win in the No. 1 position over Rachel Neito and Nele Barber to hand the 49ers (3-1) their first loss of the 2018 season.

On court one, Brook Bauer and Madalyn Roh went ahead 21-16 in the No. 1 position over Nele Barber and Rachel Nieto to pull ahead. The Waves then finished the overall match with a 23-21 win to secure the 3-0 score. LBSU countered late with three-set wins on courts three and five to make the final 3-2 overall.
