MALIBU, Calif. - The No.2-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team defeated Dartmouth 5-2 at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup. Laura Gulbe clinched the match on court four with a 6-2, 6-1 showing.

After winning the doubles point early, the Waves (10-1) relied on strong singles performances from Gulbe, Mayar Sherif, Evgeniya Levashova and Adrijana Lekaj to down the Big Green (7-7).

The Waves came out strong in doubles, with #30 Mayar Sherif and Luisa Stefani defeating Julia Schroeder and Abigail Chiu 6-3 in the No. 1 position. #70 Evgeniya Levashova and Dzina Milovanovic won their match against Kristina Mathis and Racquel Lyn on court two to clinch the doubles point and send Pepperdine into singles with the advantage. Ashley Lahey and Adrijana Lekaj were leading their match 4-3 when the doubles point clinched.
With the 1-0 match lead going into singles, the Waves did not let up. #61 Levashova made quick work of Lyn, taking her match in 6-1, 6-0 fashion on court three to open. #12 Sherif also won a fast match, defeating Schroeder 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2-slot. #95 Gulbe clinched match point for the Waves on court four, winning her match against Chiu 6-2, 6-1. The final three matches played out, with Lekaj taking her match with Hwang 6-2, 6-3. Milovanovic forced a third set, but lost in a match tiebreak, 10-4 and #25 Stefani fell on court one 6-3, 6-4.
