Second-Round Results

PALM CITY, Florida " Joshua McCarthy and Clay Feagler both went under par during Monday's second round of the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, helping the Pepperdine men's golf team to move up a spot in the team standings.

The Waves are now in 10th place with a two-day total of 578 (292-286) at the par-71 Floridian. This is one of the nation's top tournaments, as the Waves, ranked 21st, are one 10 top-25 teams in the field according to Golfweek/Sagarin. Thirteen of the 16 schools are in the top 40.

PLAYER SCORES

• Sophomore Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) moved up to a tie for eighth place with a 3-under 139 (71-68). His 3-under today included four birdies and just one bogey.
• Senior Anthony Cecere (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) shot an even-par 71 to move up to a tie for 31st place at 144 (73-71). His round included four birdies.
• Sophomore Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) jumped to a tie for 45th place after a 1-under 70 put him at 146 (76-70). Today's round included three birdies.
• Junior Sahith Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) is tied for 63rd at 149 (72-77).
• Junior Roy Cootes (Rolling Hills, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) is in 89th at 167 (79-88).
