
Wieczorek, Wexter Lead #12 Pepperdine Past Princeton

MALIBU, Calif. -- Red-shirt junior David Wieczorek and junior Michael Wexter posted career-high .650 and .727 hitting percentages respectively to propel the No. 12 Pepperdine men's volleyball team to a sweep over Princeton in Firestone Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
The Waves (4-2) hit for a collective .365 success rate, while plastering eight aces down on the Tigers (1-7) for the 25-20, 25-15, 27-25 victory.

Pepperdine dominated the second set early, amassing a 9-5 lead with aces from Wieczorek and Chamberlain. The Waves continued to pound down with smashes from Chamberlain and Harriman and a block connection from Wieczorek and Chamberlain to make it 20-11 late in the set. A series of kills and a last service error from the other side of the net, the home team collected the 25-15 set win to head into the third with the big advantage.
Despite the Waves' advantage heading into the third set, the opposition came out strong, leading the set throughout its majority towards a 20-17 lead late in the action. Pepperdine tied the set at the 22-22 mark after a Colby Harriman ace and Wieczorek smash. After a few back-and-forth options, a pair of kills from Wieczorek and a match-winning kill from Harriman earned the Waves a 27-25 win and the three-set sweep.
