BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The Pepperdine baseball team fell on the road on Wednesday, 15-2, to Campbell University at Jim Perry Stadium.
An eight-run second inning gave the Fighting Camels (3-6) all the momentum they would need, holding the Waves (3-6) scoreless until the ninth inning.

- Junior Chase Lambert (Malibu, Calif./Malibu HS) had one of two hits on the night for the Waves, going 1-for-1 before coming out of the game.
- Freshman Billy Cook (Monument, Colo./Lewis Palmer HS) had the other hit for Pepperdine, eventually going 1-for-3.
- Freshman Dane Morrow (Malibu, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) was the most effective reliever for the Waves, going 2.1 innings with 1 R, 1 H, 3 BB and 3 K

The Fighting Camels got off to a quick start, scoring six runs off of Pepperdine starter Cooper Chandler (0-2), only two of which were earned due to an error, forcing the Waves to go to the bullpen. The Camels then scored two more runs in the inning, giving them a 8-0 lead after two. They scored another run in the fourth and two in the fifth inning. After five, Campbell led 12-0.
The Camels led 13-0 after the seventh inning. They then scored two more in the eighth to give them a final total of 15 runs.
In the ninth, after three walks loaded the bases, Saul Sandoval-Estrada scored on a wild pitch and Matthew Kanfer scored on a sacrifice fly, netting the Waves two runs. They could not get any more runs across in the ninth, and took their sixth loss of the season.

The Waves stay in North Carolina for the Le Clair Classic, hosted by East Carolina. They will play ECU on Friday at 1:30 p.m. PT, Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT, and Missouri State on Sunday at 8 a.m. PT.
