WAVEPOINTS
• The Pepperdine men's basketball team's week-long road trip continues with the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase and a first-round game against Towson on Friday.
• The only previous time the Waves played official games outside the United States was the 1999 San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico.
• Head coach Lorenzo Romar, now in his second stint coaching the Waves, has 392 career wins, eight shy of a milestone 400.
• The Waves hope to stay healthy after being decimated by injuries the last two years. They lost 99 player-games in 2016-17 and 81 in 2017-18.
• After missing the first game of the season while recovering from a concussion, Kameron Edwards returned Tuesday at Northern Colorado to post team highs of 22 points and nine rebounds.
• After scoring in double-figures just once last season, Jade' Smith has done it twice in two games this year. Colbey Ross is the other Wave that has scored at least 10 points in both games.
• It's a small sample size after two games, but the Waves are shooting 50% from the field, 46% on three-pointers and 76% from the foul line.
• The Waves left Malibu with the campus under threat by the Woolsey Fire. To help Pepperdine students affected or displaced by the wildfires, please visit impact.pepperdine.edu/crisisresponse.
• After a break for Thanksgiving, the Waves are next in action on Monday, November 26, with a home game against Idaho State. That's the start of a three-game homestand, which will include the rescheduled CSUN game.
GAME #3 — Friday (November 16) at Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium in Nassau, Bahamas: Pepperdine (1-1) vs. Towson (1-1) at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
GAME #4 — Saturday (November 17) at Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium in Nassau, Bahamas: Pepperdine will play either Georgia Southern (2-0) or Florida Atlantic (2-0). The winners' bracket game is at 8 p.m. ET and the losers' bracket game is at 2 p.m. ET.
GAME #5 — Sunday (November 18) at Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium in Nassau, Bahamas: Pepperdine will play Montana (2-0), Incarnate Word (3-1), Miami (Ohio) (1-1) or North Dakota State (1-1). The seventh-place game is at 11 a.m. ET, the fifth-place game is at 2 p.m. ET, the third-place game is at 5 p.m. ET and the championship is at 8 p.m. ET.
WAVECASTS — All three games can be heard via WaveCasts. Veteran play-by-play man Al Epstein, a 2015 Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, will be behind the microphone (now in his 34th season, this will be his 1,006th, 1,007th and 1,008th consecutive broadcasts for the Waves).
WATCH — The tournament will be streamed at bdglobal.inplayer.com. It is a pay-per-view event with a cost of $9.95 per game or $24.95 for the entire tournament.
