PLAY-BY-PLAY
Each side came out strong to start the match, but the opposition was able to amass a 10-7 lead early on.  With the help of three-consecutive kills from Shannon Scully and a follow pair of smashes from Alli O'Harra, the Waves countered to tie the set at 14's.  Despite the Broncos hitting the 20-point mark first, the Waves once again countered with kills from Scully to tie the score and pull ahead 23-21 in the final moments.  Kills from across the net tied the score and forced extra points, but a surprise attack from Blossom Sato followed up by a final smash from Hannah Frohling and the Waves won the first set 26-24.

In the second set, the Waves set the tone by opening with an ace from Frohling and kills from Scully and Heidi Dyer to gain a 5-1 lead.  Although the competition was able to counter and tie things up, a big service effort from Hana Lishman including a kill from Tarah Wylie for a solid 14-8 advantage.  Sato put the Broncos on edge with another solid service output and blocks from Tarah Wylie and Frohling kept the Waves in the lead an en route to a 25-16 second set win.

With the disadvantage heading into the third set, the Broncos came out ready to play, amassing a 10-5 lead to open the action.  It would be a lead the Waves would be unable to overcome as Santa Clara continues to power through for a 25-17 third set victory to force a fourth.

In the fourth set, the Waves came out with a vengeance and unleashed on the Broncos, posting big kills from Scully and Dyer to set the tone and delivering a message with a block from O'Harra and Scully to pull ahead 10-4.  Pepperdine continued with smashes from Dyer and Scully late in the action.  With a 20-12 lead, Frohling put down five kills in six-consecutive plays to shut the door 25-13 with a Waves' win.
