PLAY-BY-PLAY
The Waves gave fans quite a thrill in the opening set against the top-ranked Cougars.  After going down 7-3 to start, Pepperdine battled back with a 4-0 run to even the score.  The Waves took a lead at the 14-12 mark and after 13 tied scores and four lead changes throughout the set, each side was tied at 19's.  The Cougars took the first advantage and went ahead 22-20, but the Waves were close behind and evened the score, eventually taking a 24-23 lead with a set-point opportunity.  BYU stayed in it, however, and strong defensive propelled the Cougars to a 26-24 set win.

BYU then had the advantage and the momentum throughout the rest of the match.  The home team came out with a 7-2 set advantage and continued with a big attack towards a 25-13 set win.  In the final set, the Cougars quickly downed the Waves 25-8.
