Malibu, Calif. -- The Pepperdine women's soccer team posted its fifth shutout of the season on Friday, beating UC Santa Barbara 1-0 at home in the Waves' final non-conference game of the season.
Freshman Joelle Anderson (San Jose, Calif./Harker School) scored the lone goal of the game in the 38th minute and Calista Reyes (Las Vegas, Nev./Sierra Vista HS) picked up the assist to move Pepperdine to 6-2-2 on the year heading into West Coast Conference play. Brielle Preece (Livermore, Calif./Granada HS) got the shutout in goal.
Through 10 games this year, the Waves' defense has given up just five goals, allowing no more than one score in any contest this season. Pepperdine allowed just five shots on Friday and did not give up a shot on goal in the game.
