"We had a really professional performance today," said Head Coach Tim Ward. "Columbia is a good and smart team, and they made it difficult for us to break them down, but as is the case a lot of the time, the first goal changes the game. Devyn scored a beauty for us and after we had the lead, the challenge was to be really clinical with our passes, because one bad ball can lead to a counter and get them back in the game. Thankfully we took care of things and were able to net the second goal late in the game."
"Brielle is such a great leader for us in goal," said Ward. "She's a great example of what it means to be a Wave. She sat behind an excellent keeper in Hannah Seabert for a few years and now that she's getting the chance, we are really proud of how she has stepped up to that role. Not only does she have the natural skill as an excellent keeper, but she brings an element of comfort and confidence for our team, and I think that showed in how we played today."
"Devyn is doing a great job for us," said Ward. "I told her the other day to keep her feet on the ground because after getting a couple goals as a freshman, that can be a challenge. She's done a great job of staying grounded, staying focused and doing what she came here to do, which is score goals. The exciting thing for her is that she has a long way to go and we're looking forward to what she can continue to do out there."
