The opposition then took a win on court one, but senior Guilherme Hadlich (Balneário Camboriú, Brazil/Colégio Energia) and sophomore Gabriel Sidney (Curitiba, Parana, Brazil/Anglo Americano) were in a position to clinch the doubles point for the Waves with a 6-2 victory voer Vincent Rettke and Kyle Everly in the No. 2-slot.

With the lead heading into singles, the Waves came out strong, winning four-of-six first sets to open play. Hadlich began the winning in the second portion of the match, dishing out a 6-4, 6-1 win over Ruadhan O'Sullivan to extend Pepperdine's lead.

Sidney the put his team in clinching territory with a pair of 6-3 sets over Homedes Dualde on court five. The Zags then posted a two-set win on court six to put their first point on the board of the day.

Shortly after, Iamachkine picked up the clinch to win the match and abandon all remaining courts.
