
Women's Hoops Falls at UC Davis

DAVIS, California -- Yasmine Robinson-Bacote led four Pepperdine women's basketball players who scored in double-figures with 17 points, but the Waves fell on the road to UC Davis, 69-64, on Sunday afternoon.
This was the second of a three-game opening road swing for the Waves (1-1).

- Junior forward Yasmine Robinson-Bacote led the Waves with 17 points and eight rebounds.
- Senior forward Peyton Langston added 12 points and five rebounds.
- Freshmen Rose Pflug and Monique Andriuolo both scored 10 points off the bench.

- The Waves were outshot 49.1% to 29.9% from the field, but helped make up for it by going 21-for-29 at the free throw line compared to the Aggies' 10-for-17.
- Pepperdine outrebounded UC Davis, 45-37, and had an 18-6 edge in second-chance points.
- The Waves also committed fewer turnovers, 11 to 14.
- UC Davis' Morgan Bertsch scored a game-high and career-high-tying 27 points on 13-for-18 shooting. She scored her 1,000th career point during the contest.

Pepperdine never led as the Aggies scored the first 10 points of the game. UC Davis led by 11 at 15-4 before the Waves ended the first quarter on an 8-0 run to make it 15-12 at the first break.
The Waves closed the gap to one point at 19-18 after a Sydney Bordonaro three-pointer, and later to two at 25-23 after an Andriuolo basket, but UC Davis led 28-23 at halftime.
It was a three-point game in the third quarter with under three minutes to go, but the Aggies scored the final six points of the quarter to take a 51-42 lead.
UC Davis led by as many as 11 in the fourth quarter and the Waves couldn't get any closer than the final margin.
