MALIBU, Calif. -- Senior midfielder Bri Visalli scored a hat trick and an assist, and the No. 17 Pepperdine women's soccer team stayed unbeaten in West Coast Conference play with a 4-0 win over Gonzaga on Sunday.

Pepperdine also extended its shutout streak to five straight games and its unbeaten streak to eight straight games, moving to 10-2-2 overall and 4-0-0 WCC in the process. Gonzaga falls to 10-4-1, 2-3-0 with the loss.

Brie Welch (Arroyo Grande, Calif./Arroyo Grande HS) got the scoring started for the Waves in the 7th minute, scoring off of a rebound on a Visalli (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS) shot. Then the Pepperdine captain took over from there, scoring one more in the first half, and then two in the second to put the game away.

Visalli's three scores give her 10 goals for the season and 21 for her career, moving her into a tie for eighth place on the Pepperdine career list.

The Waves' defense was stout as always, giving up just seven shots on the day to Gonzaga and Brielle Preece (Livermore, Calif./Granada HS) made three saves in goal for her ninth shutout of the season. Pepperdine has not given up a goal in its last 524 minutes of play and owns a 0.35 goals against average which is one of the 10 best defensive marks in the country. The Waves have outscored opponents 11-0 since the start of WCC play.
