
No. 9 Waves Crush Pacific 4-0 at Home

MALIBU, Calif. - The ninth-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis squad swept West Coast Conference competition for the second time this weekend with a 4-0 victory over Pacific at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center this Saturday afternoon.
The Waves first picked up the doubles point with wins on court one and three, before securing the sweep with singles wins on court one, four and six. Pepperdine is now 13-2 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in West Coast Conference play after the victory over Pacific (6-9, 1-3 WCC).
Senior Matea Cutura and freshman Luisa Stefani were the first to finish in doubles, defeating Viktoriya Dzyuba and Annaroos Nederstigt 6-3. Then, Anna Wierda and Danielle Feneridis downed Maayan Sela and Yuki Asami 6-3 to garner the doubles point and go up 1-0 heading into singles.
To open singles play, junior Christine Maddox bested Katie Dyson with a pair of 6-1 sets to extend the Waves advantage. The Waves 2nd-ranked Stefani then put down Dzyuba on court one with 6-1, 6-1 results to give the home team a 3-0 cushion.
To clinch the sweep, Cutura dominated Asami with 6-0, 6-0 set wins, leading the Waves to a 4-0 WCC victory.
Next, Pepperdine will head to Portland and Gonzaga on April 8 and 9 to continue the West Coast Conference push.
