NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Pepperdine baseball team fell to the Tulane Green Wave 15-0 on Saturday in the second game of the three-game series.
The Green Wave got off to a quick lead as they scored two runs off Pepperdine Starter Kiko Garcia in the second inning.
Tulane got another run in the bottom of the third. The Green Wave really caught fire starting in the 4th inning, adding four runs to their lead.
The Tulane Starter, Alex Massey held the Waves to no hits until the top of the fifth inning, when Manny Jefferson sent a ball into left field for a single.
Tulane would score again in the sixth inning, extending their lead to 10 runs before Garcia would be taken out of the game. The Waves next pitcher was left-hander Isaiah Deustch. Before the end of the sixth, the Green Wave would tack on three more runs with the game at 13-0 going in to the seventh inning.
Pitcher Max Green came in for the Waves for the seventh and eighth innings. The Green Wave would score one run in each of those innings to get their lead to 15 runs. The Waves of Pepperdine couldn't get anything going in the ninth and the Green Wave completed the shutout.
The teams complete their series tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. in New Orleans.
