MALIBU, Calif. — The Pepperdine women's volleyball team signed Alli O'Harra to a national letter-of-intent during the signing period this Wednesday afternoon, as announced by Head Coach Scott Wong and the Waves' coaching staff.
"From the moment I stepped on to Pepperdine's campus," said O'Harra. "I knew it was the place I wanted to go to college. From the coaches, to the students, to the location, Pepperdine was and is a perfect fit for me."
O'Harra hails from Boise, Idaho and will graduate Centennial High School in 2017. For CHS, she earned 5A Southern Idaho Conference All-Conference first team as a junior and senior and honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore. She earned a spot on the varsity squad as a middle blocker all four seasons of high school, and garnered a starting position as a freshman. The team took 3rd place in the 5A State Tournament in 2015 and 5th place in 2014. She was a team captain in her senior campaign as well.
"Alli is a good blocker and attacker out of the middle," said Wong. "She is a great teammate, and she will contribute significantly to the Pepperdine women's volleyball program."
O'Harra also played for Idaho Crush in 2016 and earned Boise bid championship status. The team placed 19th at the USAV Junior Olympic National Championship in Milwaukee.
Throughout her career in the classroom, she earned 5A Southern Idaho Conference Academic All-Conference throughout all four years after garnering a 3.9 grade point average. She is a member of the National Honor Society from 2014 to present and was the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) treasurer in her senior campaign.
O'Harra stated that volleyball has been a passion of hers since she was nine, and at that time she made it her top-goal to play NCAA Division I volleyball in southern California.
