Second-Round Results

PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i " Sophomores Roy Cootes and Sahith Theegala both shot 3-under 69s to pace the Pepperdine men's golf team during Monday's second round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational.

The Waves are in 11th place with a two-day total of a 5-over 581 (292-289) at the par-72 Princeville Makai Golf Club. The final round is Tuesday.

Cootes (Rolling Hills, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) moved up a couple of spots to a tie for sixth place with a 6-under 138 (69-69). Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) jumped up nine places to a tie for 14th with a 3-under 141 (72-69).

Cootes had a total of five birdies on the day. For the season, he's now had 10 below-par rounds out of 14 total. With four birdies and an eagle, Theegala extended a streak that has now seen him post at least one below-par round in every single tournament that he's completed (16 and counting). He's had six below-par rounds this season.

Freshman Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) is tied for 52nd at 148 (74-74), senior Robbie Geibel (Pembroke Pines, Fla./American Heritage HS/Louisville) is tied for 86th at 155 (77-78) and junior Anthony Cecere (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) is tied for 107th at 163 (86-77).
