SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The #41-ranked Pepperdine men's tennis team concluded its Northern California road trip with a 4-0 victory over Santa Clara. With the win, the Waves improve to 13-8 overall and 5-2 in the West Coast Conference.

Pepperdine was unstoppable in doubles, and delivered two decisive victories to take the point.

Guilherme Hadlich (Balneário Camboriú, Brazil/Colégio Energia) and Rakshay Thakkar (Pune, India/St. Vincent's High School) issued Ashot Khacharyan and Mikheil Khmiadashvilli a 6-2 loss at No. 1.

At No. 3, Lautaro Pane (Puerto Madryn, Argentina/SEADEA) and Luca Marquard (Bensheim, Germany/Goeth Gymnasium Bensheim) blanked Michael Standifer and Max Heerinckx, 6-0. It was the first doubles shutout for Marquard and Pane, 7-1 in their last eight contests, this season.

The Waves continued to dominate in singles play.  Marquard nearly posted his second shutout of the day, settling for a 6-0, 6-1 win over Sebastien Mathieu at No. 5.

Pane was equally as impressive, downing Max Heerinckx 6-2, 6-0.

Pedro Iamachkine (Lima, Peru/Nebraska HS) put Pepperdine out of reach at 4-0. The freshman defeated Sam Bertram in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 to improve to a team-best 13-5 in dual play in 2015.

Play was stopped once the dual was clinched. Hadlich and Thakkar were both up 2-1 in their respective third sets, while Stefan Menichella (Santa Barbara, Calif./University HS) was up 6-2, 6-5 at No. 2.

The Waves are now off until April 17 and 18, when they close out the regular season at home against Pacific and Saint Mary's.
