Waves 1-2 Through Two Days at SDSU Farms Invitational

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's golf team went 1-2 through three matches over the first two days of the SDSU Farms Invitational. The Waves finish up play tomorrow at The Farms Golf Club against California.

Pepperdine opened the match-play tournament with a 3-2 win over Michigan and then fell 3-2 to both Arizona State and Oklahoma State.

Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) picked up a 4&3 win over Michigan's Kathy Lim in the opening match. Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) won 2&1 and Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C./Zhuji Hailiang Private School) scored a 1-up win to clinch it for the Waves.

In the second round Lee and Chow won 5&3 and 2-up respectively against Arizona State. Lee then finished the day as the only Pepperdine player to win all three of her matches, scoring a 1-up victory over Oklahoma State's Maddie McCrary. Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) also scored a 3&1 win against OSU.
