MALIBU, Calif. - The #49-ranked Pepperdine men's tennis team rolled to a 5-2 victory over #56 Washington to close non-conference action today in Malibu. The win moves the Waves to 10-7 on the season.

Pepperdine got on the board first, winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the point.

Tom Hill (Birmingham, England/K12 International Academy) and Pedro Iamachkine (Lima, Peru/Nebraska HS) topped Joao Barra and Viktor Farkas, 6-4 from the No. 2 spot in the lineup.

Luca Marquard (Bensheim, Germany/Goeth Gymnasium Bensheim) and Lautaro Pane (Puerto Madryn, Argentina/SEADEA) improved to 4-0 as a pair after posting a 7-5 decision over Gal Hakak and Mitch Stewart.

In singles, Marquard walked off the court victorious after downing Farkas 6-3, 6-3 to tally the Waves' second point of the afternoon.

Washington tied the match at 2-all with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, but Iamachkine gave Pepperdine the lead once and for all with his three-set triumph at No. 4. The freshman boasts a team-best 10-5 singles record in dual matches.

Pane put the Waves out of reach, 4-2, after defeating Barra 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 6.

Guilherme Hadlich (Balneário Camboriú, Brazil/Colégio Energia) dispatched #89-ranked Stewart in three sets to move to 3-0 from the top spot in the lineup.

The Waves resume West Coast Conference play on Saturday, March 28, with a 1 p.m. match vs. BYU.
