PALOS VERDES, Calif. - Marissa Chow was one of just three golfers to shoot under par during the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Monday, and the Pepperdine junior has moved up to a tie for sixth place.

As a team, the Waves are in 13th place with a total of 608 (302-306) at the par-71 Palos Verdes Golf Club. Pepperdine is competing against an outstanding field, as 10 of the 16 teams are ranked in Golfstat's top 25 (the Waves are #11). The third and final round is on Tuesday.

Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) shot a 1-under 70, which moved her up 12 spots on the leaderboard with a 1-over 143 (73-70). She had a total of four birdies during her round for the second straight day. It's the ninth time that Chow, a 2014 Golfweek All-American third team selection, has gone below-par in her 14 rounds during the 2014-15 season.

The only other players with below-par rounds on Monday were the co-leaders, UCLA's Bronte Law and Baylor's Hayley Davis, who both have a total of 137.

Freshman Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Shenton College) is tied for 35th place at 151 (75-76), freshman Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C./Zhuji Hailiang Private School) is tied for 53rd at 153 (75-78), senior Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) is tied for 82nd at 161 (79-82) and senior Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) is 87th at 164 (82-82). Wijaya had three birdies during her round.

All teams will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday for the final round. Pepperdine will be paired with Michigan State, Ohio State and North Carolina and will begin off holes 13 through 16.
