PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's golf team wrapped up its first event of the spring season, the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, with a 13th-place finish on Tuesday.
The Waves shot a total of 914 (302-306-306) over the three days at the par-71 Palos Verdes Golf Club. Pepperdine was competing against an outstanding field, as 10 of the 16 teams were ranked in Golfstat's top 25 (the Waves were #11).
Junior Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) tied for 24th place at 223 (73-70-80), freshman Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Shenton College) tied for 38th at 226 (75-76-75), freshman Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C./Zhuji Hailiang Private School) tied for 60th at 230 (75-78-77), senior Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) tied for 78th at 238 (82-82-74) and senior Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) tied for 81st at 241 (79-82-80).
Wijaya and Zhu both had a team-high three birdies on the day.
Pepperdine will next be in action at the UC Irvine Invitational on February 23-24.
