MALIBU, Calif. - The 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Soccer Teams have been announced and Pepperdine women's soccer sophomore Bri Visalli was named to the District 8 second team.
Visalli (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS) is one of four midfielders on the second team and her 3.75 GPA is the sixth best on the 14-player squad. Visalli is an economics major at Pepperdine.
The Waves' leading scorer this season, Visalli has tallied four goals on the year in her 16 games played. Two of Visalli's strikes have been game-winners, including a goal late in overtime last weekend against Portland.
Visalli continues a run of seven straight years that a Pepperdine player has received the academic honor and she is the 14th Wave overall to garner All-District recognition. She is one of three WCC players to be named to the All-District 8 team, with Portland's Parkes Kendrick and BYU's Sara Chambers Gardner also earning the award.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-American teams honor the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Nominated student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 GPA and be significant contributors to their team on the field.
