WOLCOTT, Colo. - Looking for its third consecutive title at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, the Pepperdine women's golf team is in a deadlock with Tennessee after Tuesday's second round. The Waves' Marissa Chow has jumped into a share of the individual lead.

The Waves had a one-shot lead over the Volunteers after Monday's first round at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club, but Tennessee took a lead partway through the second round before Pepperdine evened things up on the 18th. Both teams have a total of a 6-over 582, with Campbell 10 shots back in third place. The third and final round is Wednesday.

Pepperdine won the inaugural Golfweek Conference Challenge in 2009 and also captured titles in 2012 and 2013.

Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS), a junior, was the only player to break par on Tuesday. Her 2-under 70 gives her a two-day total of a 1-under 143 (73-70). She's tied with Campbell's Louise Latorre atop the leaderboard. Chow had five birdies on the day.

No one else on the course posted better than a 1-over 73, which included Pepperdine senior Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS). She moved up 34 spots on the board and is tied for 24th place at 152 (79-73). She had five birdies and an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.

Monday's co-leaders, senior Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) and Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Shenton College), are now tied for sixth place. They've both shot 68-78 for a total of a 2-over 146.

Freshman Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C./Zhuji Hailiang Private School) is tied for 24th place at 152 (75-77).
