LA JOLLA, Calif. - On the second and final day of the Cal/Nevada Collegiate Championships, three members of the Pepperdine track teams were in action on Saturday.
Junior Lisa Santroch (Shoreline, Wash./Shorewood HS) ran the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase for the second time this season. She finished in sixth place out of 16 runners in a time of 11:09.45. That was about three seconds better than her first attempt. She was already #2 on Pepperdine's all-time top five list in the steeplechase and that didn't change.
Freshman Lindsay Sheaffer (Portland, Ore./Jesuit HS) took 11th place out of 32 runners in the women's 1,500 meters. Her time of 4:43.03 was four seconds better than her previous best and moved her from #5 to #3 on the Waves' all-time top five.
Freshman Nick Blanchard (Portland, Conn./Portland HS) competed in the men's 1,500 meters. His time of 4:06.30 was just three-tenths of a second off his best set earlier this season.
The Waves will compete in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational next Saturday (April 12).
