MALIBU, Calif. - With the 2015 season less than two months away, Collegiate Baseball released its Preseason All-American list and Pepperdine's Hutton Moyer drew third-team honors.

The Waves' junior second baseman is one of two West Coast Conference players on the preseason list, joining Pacific's Gio Brussa.

Moyer (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he helped lead the Waves to a 43-18 record and an appearance in the NCAA Super Regional, starting all 61 games at second for the team. He was third on the team with a .306 batting average last year and was fourth in the WCC with 15 stolen bases. Moyer also led the team and WCC, and was seventh in the nation with 24 doubles on the year.

Moyer was at his best in the postseason, leading the team with a .379 batting average in the playoffs. He was named to the NCAA All-Regional team after batting .667 (5-for-9) with three runs scored and one RBI in the San Luis Obispo Regional. Moyer was also named All-WCC first team last season in helping to lead the Waves to their 17th WCC title.

In his two seasons at Pepperdine, Moyer has compiled a .286 average with 113 hits, 28 doubles, 38 RBI and 22 stolen bases.

The Waves open the 2015 season on Feb. 13 when they host Tulane for a three-game non-conference series.
