MALIBU, Calif. - Two members of the Pepperdine baseball team earned West Coast Conference Honorable Mention academic team nods, the conference announced Monday.

Justin Rubin (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) and graduate outfielder
Nick Upstill (Huntington Beach, Calif.) were recognized by the conference for their academic excellence in addition to their performance on the field. Rubin earned his bachelor's degree in sociology this Spring while Upstill is earning his master's degree in clinical psychology with anticipated graduation of Spring 2025.

In the classroom, Rubin and Upstill earned 3.36 and 3.74, respectively. Starting at shortstop the majority of the season, Rubin was second on the team in doubles with 10 with a .251 batting average. Upstill led the Waves in nearly all offensive categories with a .345 batting average, .893 OPS, 11 doubles, and a .714 stolen base percentage. Upstill only missed five games all season while Rubin played and started in all 54.
