MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's soccer team cracked the Top 10 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll for the first time this season, moving up three spots to No. 8 after yet another 2-0 week.
The Waves also came in at No. 8 in the Soccer America rankings for the second-straight week and moved up one spot in the Top Drawer Soccer rankings to No. 10. Pepperdine held fast at No. 8 in the NCAA RPI ratings.
After downing both Santa Clara and San Francisco last week, the Waves jumped Virginia Tech, Texas A&M and Texas Tech in the NSCAA rankings after all three teams suffered losses. Pepperdine is the only mid-major program currently listed in the Top 10 and is the highest ranked WCC team. BYU also is ranked at No. 23 and Santa Clara is currently receiving votes.
The team's only loss this season came against top-ranked UCLA and their lone tie came to a Washington State team that is ranked 21st in the NSCAA poll and 10th in the NCAA RPI ratings. The Waves' top win came at home against No. 7 North Carolina early in the year.
Pepperdine's 11-1-1 record is the program's best ever through 13 games and the team's current seven-game winning streak is tied for the second longest in program history.
The Waves will look to continue their hot streak as they travel to Saint Mary's and Pacific this weekend.
