MALIBU, Calif. - After picking up her first career scores this past week, Pepperdine women's soccer freshman Bri Visalli was named WCC Player of the Week.
Visalli (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS) scored twice and assisted on another goal in a 2-0 week for the 11th-ranked Waves, helping the team move to 11-1-1 with its seventh straight win.
With Pepperdine trailing 1-0 against Santa Clara, the freshman midfielder netter her first collegiate goal in the 75th minute to even things up. Five minutes later, Visalli made a run up the center of the field and slid a pass into the box to Lynn Williams for what would be the game-winning goal. Visalli then scored in the 74th minute of a 1-1 game against San Francisco to end the week with her first collegiate game-winner.
Visalli now has two goals and two assists on the year, helping Pepperdine to the best start in program history through 13 games as an integral player in the midfield. She is the second Wave to pick up the conference weekly honor this year, with Williams already winning it on two occasions so far.
The Waves will be looking to keep their hot streak going this week as they head to Saint Mary's on Friday and Pacific on Sunday.
