PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's golf team is two-thirds of the way through the Stanford Intercollegiate after Saturday's second round, and the Waves will look to improve upon their seventh-place standing on Sunday.

The Waves pretty much stayed put after opening the day tied for sixth place. They have a total of a 9-over 577 (286-291) at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course. The tournament includes five top-10 and seven top-25 teams, including the #12 Waves.

Pepperdine will be paired with Iowa State and California and will tee off at 7:30 a.m. in Sunday's final round. It's also the final round of the fall season for the Waves.

Senior Alina Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) is tied for eighth place with a 2-under 140 (67-73). She had three birdies on the day (including one on the first hole and one on the 18th).

Junior Marissa Chow (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani HS) is tied for 12th place with a 1-under 141 (69-72). She also had three birdies on Saturday.

Freshman Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia/Shenton College) is tied for 32nd at 144 (71-73), sophomore Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay/Asuncion Christian Academy) is tied for 64th at 152 (79-73) and senior Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) is in 78th at 155 (80-75).
