SAN FRANCISCO - The #39-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team capped the weekend with a 6-0 sweep versus San Francisco on Saturday afternoon at Golden Gate Park. With the win, the Waves improve to 9-6 on the season, and a perfect 3-0 in the West Coast Conference.
Due to impending rain, the teams elected to forego doubles and start the dual with singles. Pepperdine claimed all six matches in straight sets.

In the No. 2 spot in the lineup, Ale Granillo (Pachuca, Mexico/Instituto Hidalgo) downed Melinda Akerbrant 6-1, 6-2, while Lorraine Guillermo (Walnut, Calif./Rowland HS) earned a 6-2, 6-2 win against Milica Hadzi Tanovic at No. 3.
Arianna Colffer (Corona, Calif./Buena Vista HS) posted a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Yurie Hashiguchi.
Ali Walters (Newport Beach, Calif./Creekside Christian HS/UCLA) was dominant in her match, allowing just two games in a straight-set sweep over Alana McMahon.
In the No. 6 match, Megan Moore (Portland, Ore./Jesuit HS) took down Blair Reed, 6-1, 6-2.
The Waves return to Malibu next week when they host Saint Mary's (April 5) and San Diego (April 6). The Gaels were picked to finish second behind Pepperdine in the WCC Preseason Coaches' Poll, while the Toreros were voted to place third.
