Dick McGuire Invitational Final Results

Alina Ching posted top 20 finishes to lead the Pepperdine women's golf team at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, which wrapped up play on Monday.
The Waves slipped to ninth place as a team after a final-round 310 at the par-73 UNM Championship Course. They finished with a total of 906 (300-296-310).
Ching (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School), who was making her collegiate debut, improved her score each round and finished tied for 17th place at a 5-over 224 (77-74-73). Unfortunately for the Waves, however, she was competing as an individual and her score didn't contribute to the team total. She had four birdies during her even-par final round.
Na (Alameda, Calif./Alameda HS) also tied for 17th place at 224 (75-70-79), and it was the eighth time in nine career starts that she has placed in the top 20.
Senior Kaitlin Drolson (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) finished just outside the top 20 at 226 (72-77-77), which was good for a tie for 26th place. She had three birdies on Tuesday.
Freshman Somin Lee (Denver, Colo./Overland HS) tied for 33rd place at 227 (74-77-76), sophomore Danielle Gillaspy (Santa Maria, Calif./St. Joseph's HS) tied for 42nd place at 229 (79-72-78) and Sophomore Liv Cheng (Auckland, New Zealand) tied for 83rd place at 239 (80-79-80).
Pepperdine is next in action at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Oct. 24-26. The Waves were victorious in their last two outings at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
